The Change Engine is a KUGLER MAAG CIE Change Management Service Area with a CMMI®-conform process management system at its centre. The Change Engine allows organizations to systematically identify and perform necessary changes. This reduces the risk of change projects failing. Using the Change Engine you can manage processes, implement strategies, and control changes in your organization etc.
How it works
The Change Engine can be fed with any single business need requiring a change. This could be a result of strategy or innovation process, a recommendation of an assessment (based on CMMI®, ISO15504, ISO 9001, ITIL or other models) or an idea being put forward by a member of staff.
Needing to describe their improvement recommendation as a “Change and Improvement Request” (CIR) requires staff to develop a business sense, which facilitates the decision-making process for management - thus also increasing their involvement.
Prioritized by business need CIRs are implemented by a Change Engine improvement project. This follows a Change Engine process which consists of a series of procedures used to improve the organization and institutionalize the improvement results.
With Change Engine improvement projects all types of changes can be handled and organized – including tool implementations, process improvements, the introduction of new roles, and the implementation of organizational changes.
Like every business investment all changes in the organization require maintenance and care. The Change Engine care process describes the procedure and a possible form of organization for the maintenance and care of change results that come about.
The Change Engine management process ensures the functioning and interplay of all Change Engine parts. This is where tasks like the prioritization of change and improvement requests, the monitoring of change and improvement projects, and the care of the Change Engine process infrastructure are processed.
