Standards for Functional Safety

Play it safe with us!

The IEC 61508 safety standard and specific adaptations like EN 5012x or ISO/DIS 26262 for functional safety are reference models for the development of safety-related components and systems.

Manufacturers as well as suppliers have to be able to prove to customers and licensing authorities that electronic systems will deliver the required functionality safely and reliably, despite increasing complexity and software determination.

The safety model consists of the following steps:

  • First the critical class – the Safety Integrity Level (SIL) – of the product is determined (in Automotive ISO/DIS 26262 ASIL A, ASIL B etc.).
  • From these classes product-oriented measures - safety requirements - are derived and defined.
  • Afterwards the process capability of these measures is to be established.

We can support you with our know-how to implement the safety requirements compliant with the maturity models CMMI®, ISO 15504 (SPICE) and Automotive SPICE® and to weave them into your company in such a way that any additional work and cost for you will be kept to an absolute minimum.
