In the context of the "TUV Rheinland Functional Safety Program" we can offer you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge and experience, and to thus gain a know-how that is accepted worldwide as well as practical expertise in the area of functional safety based on ISO 26262. – The course lasts three days; on day four there is the option to take part in the “TUV Functional Safety Engineer (Automotive)” exam.
The training aims to teach participants the necessary knowledge to be able to implement the requirements of the international ISO 26262 standard in a goal-oriented and effective way.

- Relationship between ISO 26262 and the basic standard IEC 61508
- Homologation rules & regulations
- Product liability
- The international standard ISO 26262
- General methods and requirements
- Considering the lifecycles of safety-related systems
- Requirements for the management of functional safety
- Requirements for the assessment of functional safety
- The importance and meaning of the automotive safety integrity levels (ASILs)
- Defining requirements according to the chosen ASIL
Training Information "TUV Functional Safety Engineer (Automotive)"
- 3 or 4 day course – Automotive System Design according to ISO 26262
- Course fee: € 1,980 (without the examination) or € 2,250 (with the examination) plus VAT. If two or more people from the same company register together, we grant a 20% discount from the second participant onward.
- The course is limited to 12 participants.
- The course is designed for experienced engineers involved in the development and implementation of embedded electronic systems in automotive, where this development is carried out based on ISO 26262.
Engineers who are working in the area of functional safety may take part in an exam at the end of the training. However, the "TÜV Functional Safety engineer (Automotive)"certificate will only be issued to those who:
- successfully pass the exam
- have a minimum of 3 years professional experience in the field of functional safety
and
- can either provide evidence of a technical education (e.g. as an engineer, computer scientist, physicist, etc.) by sending in a copy of the degree or suchlike or
can provide an employer reference specifying their professional duties and responsibilities etc.

This training course is being offered in cooperation with TÜV Rheinland as part of the “TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety Program”.
