The future is now – Kugler Maag Cie at the VDA Sys
Two workshops at the virtual VDA Sys 2021 highlighted the convergence of embedded IT: The Data Management workshop showed how data turns into software, which is essential for digital services. And Hardware for SPICE looked at development from the opposite perspective – without the physical interface, no networked vehicle will be able to operate in the future. Experts from Kugler Maag Cie played a leading role in the development of both approaches.
Back to news and eventsCo-moderated by our experts, the workshops provide answers for two key aspects of how connected vehicles will be developed in the future:
- During the presentation, Kosmas Kopmeier from Kugler Maag Cie and Dr. Pierre Metz (intacs™ e.V.) gave an insight into Hardware SPICE. With this plug-in, hardware development can be developed compliant to Automotive SPICE®. This is an important step to be able to develop mechatronic systems on a reliable and integrated basis.
- In the subsequent workshop on Data Management SPICE and Data Quality Evaluation, Christian Hertneck and Thomas Sievers (Robert Bosch GmbH) explained why in the digital economy data quality represents a strategic issue. They clearly explained the data structure within the process landscape, including a data lifecycle, and gave an outlook on a process model for data management.
- Ultimately, Dr. Bhaskar Vanamali gave a relaxed talk on learning from the human body for companies to become more resilient. Vanamali illustrated, using biochemical processes, how a multifaceted organism is able to permanently master complexity and environmental turbulences on the long run.

Looking forward to meeting you all in person again next year at VDA Sys. Due to the virtual nature, the Kugler Maag Cie evening event was also cancelled this year. For 2022 we will therefore come up with something special.
